There's no technique that causes knitters to shudder harder than steeking, or cutting your work, but this clever method is not so daunting with a bit of practice and guidance. Small circumference knitting methods and colorwork strategies will be discussed in the first class as you cast on your piece. Complete your knitting, then come to the second class ready to cut! Michele will help you fearlessly steek your work to create an adorable coffee cuff to keep your beverage hot, or a mug rug to keep your tables ring free.
Skill Required: Long tail or knitted cast on, knit and purl stitches, common increases and decreases, knitting in the round, reading a pattern, binding off.
Materials - Either bring your own or before/during class get 20% off your purchase of the following:
Yarn: two 50g skeins of non-superwash worsted weight yarn, approximately 100yds each
Needles: two 24” circular needles, or one 40”-47” circular for magic loop method, in a size that gives you a pleasant fabric with your chosen yarn, apprx. US #7-9; DPNs will be too uncomfortable Hook: one crochet hook, size F, for reinforcing the steek before you cut
