Amigurumi is the name for adorable Japanese crocheted toys. This class will expand on your basic crochet skills and teach you the techniques needed to create these darling owls, and future creatures of all kinds. You’ll be ready to start your own menagerie!
Skills Required: Chain, single crochet, slip stitch.
Materials - Either bring your own or before/during class get 20% off your purchase of the following:
Yarn: 20-40yds worsted weight yarn in main color (body); small amount of worsted weight yarn in 2 contrast colors (tummy & beak)
Hook: US size F (3.75mm) crochet hook
Notions: locking stitch markers, tapestry needle; large sewing needle and thread to attach eyes; 2 shank buttons, approx. ½”, for eyes

Pattern: Big and Little Owl pattern by Carlene Jackson, distributed at class; fiberfill stuffing
Skills Learned: How to increase, invisible decrease, working in continuous rounds, how to stuff and assemble pieces, and various finishing techniques for amigurumi.
